Academic Programs

International Student ESL Program
Established: 2015
In the past three years, students from across the world have come to RICC to enhance their English proficiency, earn a high school diploma, and find a “gateway to their dream universities.” RICC’s program for international ESL students is enhanced by IELTS preparation and field trips/activities that help students to experience the Niagara Region/GTA and Canadian culture in
general.

 

RICC Online
Launching in February 2020
Coming soon, a new web-based platform will allow students all around the world to enjoy the benefits of a RICC education right from the comfort of their own homes. Students have constant digital interaction with their classmates and their instructor, who is an expert in the subject matter, in order to have the sense of a real classroom environment. Students will work collaboratively with classmates from around the world, and will demonstrate their understanding in unique ways made possible through technology. For the true 21st century learner, RICC Online will be another “gateway to your dream university.” Offerings for grades 9-12 are expected to be available.


Performing Arts Program
Established: 2019
The latest in RICC’s conquering of the arts, the new performing arts program combines a mixture of drama, dance, and music (vocal and/or instrumental) in both credit and non-credit (extracurricular) capacities. A large focus is on the integration of arts disciplines.
Students enrolled in this program will focus on a large-scale project during the school year, such as a musical or other big performance.

 

STEM Academy
Established: 2019
For the future engineers and innovators of the world, RICC’s STEM Academy provides a diverse mixture of science and math programming with credit and extracurricular options. Science courses are offered in biology, chemistry, computer science, earth and space science, and physics. Mathematics courses include calculus and vectors. STEM programming focuses on the application of course-based work to real world problems and scenarios. Students will get to experiment, design and build, and explore career possibilities and post-secondary offerings in a STEM field of their choice.

Baseball Academy
Established: 2019
The RICC Baseball Academy provides student-athletes with an opportunity to train year-round for baseball while attending RICC during the school day. Student-athletes will also get to attend winter showcases attended by college scouts. Competitive opportunities are also available. RICC is committed to offering an elite high-performance soccer program: the first of its kind in Niagara!

 

Cheerleading Program
Established: 2017
RICC offers two semesters of cheerleading, which includes some tumbling, dance, and gymnastics skills as well. During the fall, the cheer squad supports the Knights football team at many of their games in the US. Winter brings the start of the competitive season, with one or two cheer competitions usually held in December. The remainder of competitions is held in the spring, with the final
opportunity to compete usually being at Canada’s Wonderland.
In two seasons of competition, RICC’s cheer squad has earned a first place and third place banner.


Fencing Program
Established: 2019
One of the first events in the Olympic games, fencing also has a long history at many prestigious universities and schools. With fencing being a growing option at many of Ontario’s universities, RICC is now offering students the chance to learn and compete at this combat sport.

 

Knights Football Academy
Established: 2016
One of the few American football academies in the country, RICC’s football program provides the only opportunity to attend a prep boarding school in Canada and compete in the United States. The competitive football season is from late August to mid November. In the winter, student-athletes will train in
speed/agility and strength/conditioning. Opportunities exist for student-athletes to attend showcases in the spring and the first NCAA university camps at the end of the term. RICC’s football team has defeated teams from the US, including a
reigning Ohio state champion, and players have received scholarships to universities across Canada and the United States.

RICC Soccer Academy of Excellence

The RICC Soccer Academy of Excellence provides student-athletes with an opportunity to train year-round for soccer while attending RICC during the school day. Student-athletes will also get to attend winter showcases attended by college scouts. Competitive opportunities are also available. RICC is committed to offering an elite high-performance soccer program: the first of its kind in Niagara!

RICC Tennis Academy

Currently in development

The prep school concept is expanded to one of the world's most popular individual sports: tennis. RICC is pleased to enrol both beginner and advanced elite tennis student-athletes who will be educated at the school and receive training from a highly experienced local coach. Students can customize their package, with tennis instruction and fitness/tennis-specific training 1-5 times a week, and can also choose the competitions they want to take part in throughout the year. Tennis coaching is available both terms. 

RICC Track & Field Academy

Currently in development

Through a relationship with Niagara's newest track club, Thorold Elite Track Club, RICC will facilitate coaching and competition opportunities for track & field athletes from around the world who would like to have the experience of attending a prep boarding school. An indoor and an outdoor season are both available.

Athletic Programs

Canada is a developed country and one of the wealthiest in the world. Its culture draws influences from its broad range of constituent nationalities, and policies that promote multiculturalism are constitutionally protected. Therefore, students from different countries have equal rights and with the government funding, no wonder Canada ranks among the highest in international measurements of Education.

DINING

Our food services staff follows the government guideline and offers a variety of healthy, balanced meals using International food menu to meet the needs of our students.

ACTIVITIES

For good Health, other than clean and fresh air, students’ activities will include downhill ski, skates, hockey, soccer, basketball and baseball games and festivals.
